Why the door seal leaks
A front-load washer depends on its rubber door boot to make a watertight seal. Water at the front of the machine can come from a torn seal, debris trapped in the fold, detergent buildup, or a door that is not closing evenly.
- Inspect the visible gasket for cuts or deformation.
- Remove lint or small objects from the folds.
- Wipe detergent residue and moisture away after use.
- Avoid overloading, which can push laundry against the seal.
When to arrange service
If the gasket is torn, pulled out of position, or still leaks after the sealing surfaces are cleaned, the washer should be inspected before repeated use causes floor or cabinet damage.
Safety note: Appliance symptoms can have more than one cause. Disconnect power and water when manufacturer instructions require it. Do not remove panels or perform electrical work outside your training.
